My Closet Obsession

Okay, here it is…The Royals. I LOVE THEM. Queen Elizabeth. Will & Kate. Prince George & Princess Charlotte, and now Harry & Meghan(!!!). (And if you’re wondering, yes I do already have May 19th booked on my calendar for the Royal Wedding.) I can’t stop reading articles about the fashion, the drama & extremely crucial information that is what is Kate’s go-to hair products?! I HAVE TO KNOW. I mean, come on. She’s flawless & you know it. #girlcrush And ever since we played this little “get to know you” game at work, and we admitted our obsessions, I’ve been even more into it.

I think back to my time in the Summer in 2016 in Europe, and really, really wish I had been writing this blog. I can guarantee you it would have been entertaining as hell for you reading about how badly I wanted to run into the Queen.

Ever since we left from Heathrow I’ve been dying to get back to London. I want to see Cambridge, Oxford, all of it. We did see quite a bit while there, but there’s still so much more! I could have spent an entire day at The Tower of London. That place is incredible. Waiting in line to see the Crown Jewels was 121% worth it. And let me tell you, that Crown must be a workout to wear. To no surprise, it is chock full is ginormous stones.

I’ve always had this knack for history. I like to think I got it from my Papa, my mom’s dad. He loved history, especially American, and anything to do with wars and the military. Now, my love may be slightly different, but there is still this fascination with history. I love American history. Especially when I’m traveling. But there is something so intriguing about the British & their Royal history.

Take Netflix’s The Crown. That show just sucks you right in. The acting is fantastic, the costumes amazing and the stories…so good. Watch it. Just go do it & thank me later.

Then there’s what I’m currently reading; The Royal We–it’s basically Will & Kate fan fiction. And it is fantastic. You can get it on Amazon & you won’t regret it.

Now I’m not just strictly into the Brit’s. The Swedish Royal Family is all sorts of interesting too. And damn, are they a good looking bunch. One morning at work, I went down such a deep rabbit hole after finding one article about them that I ended up reading basically the entire family story. I wasn’t even mad about it. But that’s neither here nor there.

If you have any other Royal shows, books, blogs, etc. that a fellow Royal family lover would enjoy, please, for the love of all that is good, share them! I’m almost done with my book and about halfway through Season 2 of The Crown. I need my fix!

So, there’s really no other way to end this post so here it is…God Save The Queen!

  1. I love reading books about Henry VIII and his wives! I would recommend The Lady in the Tower by Jean Plaidy, The Other Boleyn Girl by Phillipa Greggory. I also have a book The Children of Henry VIII. You’re welcome to stop by and borrow them.
